WASHINGTON D.C.— According to Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, the team will start right-handed starter Landon Knack tomorrow for the third and final game of the series against the Washington Nationals.

Knack made his Major League debut on April 17th of last season, pitching against these same Washington Nationals and picking up his first Major League win the following week here at Nationals Park.

Overall, Knack posted a 3.65 ERA in 69.0 innings last season for the Dodgers, switching between the starting rotation and bullpen and joining the team for their run in October.

During spring training, Knack was considered for one of the final spots on the Dodgers’ pitching staff, whether in the bullpen or starting rotation, but his 8.10 ERA in four appearances prompted the Dodgers to option him to Triple-A to begin the season.

Knack is already in D.C., but no official roster move has been made. That should change tomorrow morning.

Also mentioned during Dave Roberts’s pregame scrum is that this will likely not be the only opportunity for lefty Justin Wrobleski, who is starting tonight’s game, in line for Blake Snell, who was placed on the 15-day Injured List with shoulder inflammation.

“He will. Justin will be around. Let me just see because we have an off day tomorrow. Yamamoto is going on Friday. Sasaki going Saturday let me hold pat on that one”

While Roberts did not guarantee Justin a spot in the rotation, this makes sense, given the Dodgers’ current lack of options.

Right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin is still being built up after being shut down with back tightness in spring training. Gonsolin will continue his rehab assignment on Thursday, with the righty looking to hit the three-inning mark. However, Roberts mentioned the team wants Gonsolin to hit five innings before he’s activated, but it is likely pushing him until the end of the month.

Clayton Kershaw, 37, is also expected to be a mid-summer add. Where the veteran lefty is aiming for a June return from offseason knee and toe surgery.

So, if Wrobleski comes out of his start healthy, expect him to get another start for the upcoming homestand.
