Dodgers News: Max Muncy is “Likely” Going to be Activated by Next Road Trip
Max Muncy could rejoin the Dodgers sooner than expected

LOS ANGELES, CA—While the Los Angeles Dodgers begin a critical three-game series versus the Wild Card hopeful Cincinnati Reds, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave an important update on third baseman Max Muncy.
Muncy, 35, was placed back on the team’s 10-day injured list with a right oblique injury, a similar issue that forced the third baseman to miss nearly three months of the regular season.
While the injury was not shown to be as severe as the one that plagued him last season, it would force Muncy to miss some more time in the season, a scenario the Dodgers had hoped to avoid.
However, it now appears that the Dodgers will be getting Muncy back a lot sooner than the team initially thought, with Dave Roberts stating that Muncy could rejoin the team on their next road trip.
While the Dodgers finished their weekend series in San Diego, Muncy had begun dry swings and tee work, with the hope to face live pitching when the team returned back to Los Angeles.
Well, Roberts confirmed that Muncy was in the cage before tonight’s game and is scheduled to face live pitching tomorrow.
Muncy was a massive part of the Dodgers’ offense until an ugly knee injury derailed what could have been an All-Star campaign.
After returning from a severe knee injury, Muncy picked up right where he left off, hitting .348/.531/.870 with a godly 1.401 OPS.
The return of Muncy will be a massive boost to the Dodgers’ potent scoring, which has suffered multiple injuries in the second half of the regular season.
The team has already brought back one player, Kiké Hernández, and will also welcome Hyeseong Kim back later this week, pending a successful rehab with the Triple-A OKC Comets.
