LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers will host an exciting adult softball camp on Sunday, September 29, giving fans 18 and older the opportunity to live out their big league dreams. The event will take place on the field at Dodger Stadium, with special guest and Olympic gold medalist (and friend of the Carne Asada) Jessica Mendoza will be there along with fellow Olympian Natasha Watley. Fans interested in attending can reserve their spot by visiting the official website at Dodgers.com/softball.

Participants will enjoy a complete big-league experience, beginning with personalized lockers in the clubhouse and a customized jersey. They will also have access to the exclusive Dodgers facilities, such as the batting cages, the training room, and, of course, the field. Before diving into a fast-pitch game, campers will go through warm-ups and fielding drills, all under the guidance of Mendoza and Watley.

The camp promises an unforgettable day, with players divided into teams coached by the two softball stars. Mendoza and Watley will offer their expertise throughout the game, giving participants the chance to pick up insights from two of the sport’s top athletes. Afterward, there will be a Q&A session where participants can ask questions and hear more about Mendoza and Watley’s experiences in softball and beyond, all while enjoying a catered lunch.

Campers won’t just leave with memories of playing on a Major League Baseball field. The Dodgers are providing plenty of keepsakes, including special gifts, swag, and a photo package to capture the experience. Chris Koenig, Executive Director of Dodgers 365, expressed his excitement for the event. “We’re thrilled to launch the first Dodger Stadium Adult Softball Camp. We are even more excited to partner with softball legends Jessica Mendoza and Natasha Watley, who will bring a unique insight into the game for campers to learn and play alongside.”

Jessica Mendoza has become a well-known name, not only for her impressive athletic achievements but also for her broadcasting career. A local talent from Camarillo, California, Mendoza was an outfielder at Stanford University and played with Team USA from 2003 to 2008, earning a gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. Since retiring from playing, she has transitioned to a successful broadcasting career, becoming the first woman to serve as an analyst for a nationally televised Major League Baseball game on ESPN in 2015. She became part of the Dodgers’ stable of broadcast analysts in in 2022.

Mendoza was an Olympian twice after a brilliant career at Stanford University.

Joining Mendoza is Natasha Watley, who also boasts an impressive softball career. A standout shortstop at UCLA, Watley led her team to the 2003 NCAA National Championship. She went on to play professionally for eight years in the National Pro Fastpitch league and played overseas for Team Toyota in Japan. Watley is also the founder of the Natasha Watley Foundation, which works to bring softball to inner-city communities.

Both Mendoza and Watley are Hall of Fame inductees at their respective universities and were four-time All-Americans during their college careers. Their combined expertise will ensure that campers receive top-notch guidance and inspiration throughout the event. The Dodgers’ Adult Softball Camp promises to be a day full of fun, learning, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for fans.
