Dodgers News: Michael Grove & Kody Hose Headline Dodgers 2026 Minor League Free Agent Pool

The Dodgers have 17 minor league free agents entering the 2026 offseason

LOS ANGELES, CA—The 2025 Major League Baseball season has finally concluded after the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 Fall Classic in seven games.

While teams were free to trade and make roster moves after the final out, it wasn’t until five days after free agency was offically set to begin that this was true for minor league players.

Entering the offseason, the Dodgers had seven free agents (Michael Conforto, Kirby Yates, Max Muncy ($10 million Club Option), Clayton Kershaw (retired), Miguel Rojas, Michael Kopech, Kike Hernández), with that list shrinking to five with the retirement of left-hander Clayton Kershaw and the team picking up Muncy’s club option.

However, the list for the Dodgers’ minor league free agents is a bit more expansive, with a combined 17 players across the organization now free to sign elsewhere this winter.

Headlining the list is right-hander pitcher Michael Grove, who was outrighted to the minor leagues and removed from the 40-man roster on Thursday to make space on the roster for Ryan Ward, Robinson Ortiz, and Max Muncy.

Since Grove has over three years of major league experience, he was able to refuse a minor league assignment and opt for free agency, which he appears to have done.

Grove had some effective moments as a reliever for the Dodgers in 2024, but overall faced difficulties in the Majors. He injured his shoulder during the National League Division Series last year and was later taken off the postseason roster. At 28, he missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from surgery on his right shoulder to fix a torn labrum.

Another high-profile name on the list is right-hander Giovanny Gallegos, who signed a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training last season but never made it to the major leagues.

Kody Hoese, the Dodgers’ first-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, is the most prominent name on this list. Although his initial four seasons in professional baseball didn’t meet expectations based on his draft position, he has since shown progress with two strong seasons with the Comets after debuting in Triple-A in 2024.
