Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas’ & Will Smith’s Game Seven Home Run Balls Sold at Auction
The home run balls that tied the game and gave the lead, hit by Miguel Rojas and Will Smith, were sold at auction before Thanksgiving.

LOS ANGELES, CA—On November 1st, 2025, during Game Seven of the Fall Classic, the Los Angeles Dodgers were just two outs away from witnessing the American League Champion Blue Jays celebrate their first World Series title since 1993.
But then, in a 3-2 count to veteran shortstop Miguel Rojas, Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman would allow a game-tying solo home run to send the game into extra innings.
Thanks to an all-time pitching performance by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Dodgers would be able to take the lead in the top of the 11th inning off the bat of catcher Will Smith, who hit a solo home run off Blue Jays starter Shane Bieber, giving the Dodgers their first lead of the game.
Even more unlikely than the Dodgers’ historic comeback in Game Seven was that both home run balls were hit in the same section in left field and caught by a Canadian father-son duo, John and Matthew Bains.
The men seemed to throw the balls back onto the field during the home runs, but in fact, they swapped them with different baseballs they already had.
The Bainses secretly kept the home run balls before auctioning them via SCP Auctions. The Rojas home run ball sold for $156,000, while Smith’s ball fetched $168,000 on October 25.
Also sold in the same auction was Shohei Ohtani’s second of three home run balls against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game Four of the National League Championship Series, which fetched $270,000.
