Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Hits One for Chris Paul

LOS ANGELES, CA—After Wednesday’s game, Mookie Betts had a smile on his face when asked about a special guest in attendance — Clippers guard Chris Paul.

“Oh, we’ve been friends for a long time,” Betts said. “I knew he was coming to the game today and I told him I would see him.”

Turns out Paul had a little request before first pitch. “Earlier in the game he said, ‘hit me a home run,’” Betts laughed. “So I did, and that’s why I went over there.”

Betts made good on the promise, launching one into the seats and then finding his friend near the dugout to celebrate the moment.

It was a reminder that baseball can be serious business, but sometimes it’s just as much about fun, friends, and a little star power at Dodger Stadium.
