Dodgers News: Ohtani and Dodgers Win Second Straight Silver Slugger Award
In back-to-back years, Ohtani and the Dodgers have won Silver Slugger Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA—With the 2025 Major League Baseball season offically in the books after the conclusion of the World Series, which saw the Los Angeles Dodgers win in seven games, it is now award season, and yesterday was the announcement of the Silver Slugger Award Winners.
Last week, Rawlings announced the winners of the 2025 Gold Glove Award, and both Dodgers nominations, Mookie Betts (shortstop) and Miguel Rojas (utility), each came up short.
For the Silver Slugger Award, the Dodgers had several nominations, including Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Will Smith, and Shohei Ohtani, and as a collective offense, they were up for the National League team honor.
Ohtani received his fourth Silver Slugger Award, narrowly surpassing Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies and Christian Yelich of the Brewers. He ended the season with a batting line of .282/.392/.622, including 25 doubles, a career-high 55 home runs, and 102 RBIs.
Ohtani also topped the Majors with 146 runs scored and led the NL with a 1.014 on-base plus slugging percentage.
The Dodgers also won the Team Silver Slugger Award for the second consecutive season after leading the National League with 825 runs scored, 244 home runs, 791 RBIs, and a .769 OPS.
Freeman, Smith, and Muncy Fall Short
Freeman was a finalist at first base, alongside Pete Alonso (New York Mets) and Matt Olson (Atlanta Braves). Alonso ultimately received the award, earning his first Silver Slugger. This recognition comes at a perfect moment, as Alonso is a free agent for the second straight offseason.
Muncy was one of four finalists for the third base position, alongside Matt Chapman (San Francisco Giants), Manny Machado (San Diego Padres), and Austin Riley (Atlanta Braves). Machado received his third Silver Slugger award.
Smith competed with William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers and Hunter Goodman of the Colorado Rockies for the NL Silver Slugger at catcher. Goodman, a first-time winner this year, received the award.
