Rancho Cucamonga Quakes officially announce the Dodgers Single-A Affiliate will be moving south to Ontario. The upcoming 2025 season will last time the Affiliate team will play in LoanMart Field.
From the Quakes X account today, “The owners of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes announced today they have entered into an agreement to sell the team to Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH), an organization that owns and operates select minor league clubs affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB).”
The article also states, LoanMart Stadium will be the new home for the Angels Single-A Affiliate team and take over the name Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Diamond Baseball Holding will start construction on a new field in Ontario California and will be the new home for the Dodgers High-A team. No news on what the team will be named.
The Quakes play their home games at LoanMart Field, also known as the “Epicenter”. Construction on the stadium began in 1991, and the team moved in on April 1, 1993. The Quakes played their first game at the stadium on April 8, 1993, beating the High Desert Mavericks 7–3.
The Quakes have won the California League championship three times, in 1994, 2015, and 2018. The Quakes have produced over 60 alumni who have gone on to play in the Major Leagues, including Mike Trout, Corey Seager, and Cody Bellinger.
On a personal note, I’ve been to many Quakes games and the environment, fans, and staff have been great. It’s going to be sad to see the team leave, but exciting for the players to be able to play in a brand-new stadium.
