Dodgers News: Ruin Baseball? That’s the Plan for Dave Roberts
Dave Roberts has a clear goal: lets ruin baseball with four more wins

LOS ANGELES, CA—For nearly the entire season, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been under the microscope from fans and media across the country.
After winning it all last October over the New York Yankees in five games to secure their eighth World Series title in franchise history, the Dodgers front office, led by Andrew Friedman and Brandon Gomes, continued to splash in the offseason, signing multiple key free agents such as Blake Snell and Tanner Scott.
After such moves, the message around the league was clear: Los Angeles was the new evil empire, and what they were doing was bad for the sport.
However, after an inconsistent summer, in which the Dodgers did not claim a top seed in the competitive National League, and barely held on to their 12th National League West title in 13 years, that message went away, as many teams expected the team to get bounced in the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Well, fast-forward to now, and the Dodgers are heading back to the Fall Classic after a dominant four-game sweep in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series over the 97-win No. 1-seeded Milwaukee Brewers.
After this series, many fans and media pundits are questioning whether the Dodgers’ actions and plans, until the next Collective Bargaining Agreement is reached, are good for the sport and if this run is ruining baseball entirely.
After the Dodgers’ Game Four win last night, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had one clear message to those who think the Dodgers have ruined baseball.
While Roberts was talking with Lauren Shehadi on the TBS broadcast, he referenced the story that followed the Dodgers for most of the year and urged the team to embrace it by securing another World Series victory.
“I’ll tell you, before the season started, they said, ‘The Dodgers are ruining baseball,’” Roberts recalled.
“Let’s get four more wins and really ruin baseball! Let’s go!”
The Dodgers are four wins away from becoming the first back-to-back champions in over 25 years, and have the first legit shot at doing so since the 2009 Phillies.
Their opponent will be the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners have a 3-2 series advantage as the series shifts back to Toronto for Game Six.
Still, it’s the Dodgers’ 5th World Series appearance over the last nine seasons, and another win would give them three world championships since the start of the decade, having already won in 2020 and 2024.
