LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers have named catcher/outfielder Dalton Rushing as the 2024 Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year and left-handed pitcher Jackson Ferris as the 2024 Branch Rickey Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
Rushing, 23, has played 110 games this season, hitting .270 with a .383 on-base percentage, 24 home runs, and 82 RBIs. He ranks among the organization’s leaders in multiple categories, including home runs (4th), RBIs (3rd), and OPS (1st, .884). Rushing began the year in Double-A Tulsa, batting .270 with 17 home runs before being promoted to Triple-A on August 6. Since then, he’s hit .267 with seven home runs in 33 games. Drafted in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft from the University of Louisville, Rushing is currently ranked MLB’s 36th-best prospect and the fourth-best catching prospect.
Ferris, 20, has made 27 starts this season, posting a 5-7 record with a 3.20 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 126.2 innings. After starting with High-A Great Lakes, he was promoted to Double-A Tulsa in August, where he has a 2.54 ERA across seven starts. Originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft, Ferris joined the Dodgers in January 2024. He is ranked as MLB’s 82nd-best prospect and the fifth-best left-handed pitching prospect.
Both Rushing and Ferris will be honored in a pregame ceremony at Dodger Stadium on Friday, September 20, before the Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies.
