Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani wins May NL Player of the Month

Los Angeles, CA — It was announced earlier today that Dodgers two-way player Shohei Ohtani had won National League Player of the Month for May.

Ohtani slugged fifteen homers in May, matching Duke Snider in 1953 and Pedro Guerrero in 1985 for the most home runs in a single month in franchise history. Ohtani also hit to a .309 average, had seventeen RBI’s, and an OPS of 1.180.

It’s Ohtani’s sixth time winning player of the month in his MLB career, and his second with the Dodgers. Aaron Judge won the American League player of the month award for May.

Ohtani has already blasted his first home run of June, hitting a no-doubt shot to right field in the seventh inning of last night’s game against the Mets.
