Dodgers News: Six Dodgers Nominated for All-MLB Team
Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman Among Six Dodgers Nominated For 2025 All-MLB Team

LOS ANGELES, CA—While the Los Angeles Dodgers are still in the postseason race, with a date in the National League Division Series on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
However, with the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, Major League Baseball has begun announcing finalists for its annual awards, with this week marking the announcement of the 2025 All-MLB Team finalists.
The All-MLB Team was created in 2019 to recognize the top players at each position across both leagues during the season. The winners will be revealed on November 13th at the annual MLB Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Additional MLB awards will be announced in Las Vegas during the live All-MLB Show, including the Hank Aaron winners, Comeback Players of the Year, Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman Relievers of the Year, and Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter of the Year.
This year, a total of six Dodgers players were nominated: Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Mookie Betts, Will Smith, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Shohei Ohtani
One year after establishing the 50/50 club in his first season with the Dodgers, Ohtani has achieved a new career high with 55 home runs. He also posted a batting line of .282/.392/.622 and contributed a 2.87 ERA over 47 innings pitched.
Ohtani’s 1.014 was also the top score in the National League this season, surpassing renowned power hitters such as Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber.
Ohtani is looking to secure his fifth straight All-MLB selection.
Mookie Betts
Although Betts had his least impressive offensive season since his rookie year, the 2018 American League MVP and three-time World Series winner recovered strongly in the last two months. He posted a .288/.358/.404 line in August and a .299/.343/.557 line in September.
Despite some batting struggles, Betts shined defensively during his first full season at shortstop, ranking highly in Defensive Runs Saved. He is a five-time All-MLB Team member aiming for his sixth selection.
Max Muncy
Muncy posted stats comparable to his peak years with the Dodgers, batting .243/.376/.470 with 19 home runs. He faced injuries late in the season, which limited him to 100 games.
However, Muncy was among the league’s top hitters from May until he sustained a severe knee injury in July.
Freddie Freeman
The 2024 World Series MVP started the 2025 season strongly but his ankle injury worsened again by May.
Nevertheless, the two-time World Series champion had another strong year in Dodger Blue, posting a .295/.367/.502 slash line with 39 doubles, 24 homers, and 90 RBI, narrowly missing the NL Batting Title to former Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner.
Will Smith
Will Smith put together a career year at the plate for the Dodgers this season as the team laid out a plan to manage his workload, but in the end, it would be a hand fracture from a foul ball in September that would end his regular season.
Still, Smith finished with a 296/.404/.497 slash line with 20 doubles and 17 home runs this season, though a late-season hairline fracture in Smith’s right hand limited him to 110 games.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto
As Dodgers manager Dave Roberts would say, it was right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto who took the most significant step forward this season, and he proved it on the mound.
The former NPB star put together a full season for Los Angeles, making thirty starts and posting a 2.49 ERA, 0.99 WHIP in 173.2 innings, and eclipsing the 200 strikeout mark, a number that had not been reached since Walker Buheler in 2021.
