Dodgers News: Snell & Treinen Solid in Latest Rehab Outing

Blake Snell and Blake Treinen continued their rehab while the league was on break

GLENDALE, AZ— While the rest of the league enjoyed the festivities during All-Star week in Atlanta, two arms on the Dodgers continued their rehab in the Arizona League.

Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell, who started his rehab assignment last week with the Rancho Quakes, tossing two innings while punching out four batters, made his second rehab appearance on July 15th.

Snell continued his dominance through the minor league level, tossing three innings of one-run ball and striking out seven minor league hitters in the Arizona League.

Joining Snell in Arizona was veteran right-handed relief pitcher Blake Treinen, who allowed one earned run on a solo home run in his appearance but did pick up one strikeout.

Both arms are expected to return after the All-Star break in late July, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Snell likely needs two more starts to show the ability to pitch into the fifth or sixth inning. As for Treinen, he’ll likely need two more appearances also and possibly a back-to-back day before his activation.

Both players are currently on the 60-day injured list, so when they are activated, the Dodgers will have to clear space on the roster.
