LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers are proving once again that their impact extends far beyond the baseball diamond.
In a powerful display of cross-cultural unity and compassion, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) has launched a special fundraising auction featuring autographed sheet music of both the U.S. and Japanese national anthems—signed by global rock icon YOSHIKI and Japanese pitching sensations Roki Sasaki and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The initiative follows YOSHIKI’s historic dual-anthem performance at MLB Opening Day 2025 in Tokyo, where the composer and X JAPAN frontman took the stage at the Tokyo Dome. It was a night to remember: YOSHIKI, performing for the first time since undergoing neck surgery, delivered a stirring rendition of both anthems in a moment that beautifully symbolized the bond between Japan and the United States.
Now, YOSHIKI is joining forces with the LADF, Sasaki, and Yamamoto to give back. Each has signed the original sheet music from Opening Day—authenticated by Major League Baseball and elegantly framed—and these one-of-a-kind collectibles are now up for auction at Dodgers.com/auctions from April 14 through April 28.
The effort hits especially close to home for Roki Sasaki. His hometown of Ofunato, Japan, recently experienced its worst forest fires in more than 30 years. Sasaki, no stranger to tragedy—he lost his father and grandparents during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake—has personally donated 10 million yen in cash and 5 million yen in supplies to relief efforts. The Dodgers matched his gift with an additional 15 million yen, underscoring the club’s global commitment to humanitarian causes.
This isn’t YOSHIKI’s first foray into philanthropy either. A longtime supporter of wildfire relief, he’s already donated more than $500,000 to help Southern California communities rebuild, and his band X JAPAN previously gave 50 million yen to victims of the 2011 disaster in Japan.
For fans of baseball, music, or both, this auction is more than a chance to score a piece of history—it’s an opportunity to support families and communities in need, from Los Angeles to Ofunato.
Place your bids now through April 28 at dodgers.com/auctions, and be part of this remarkable gesture of solidarity.
