After a rough start to the week and their six-game road trip, including losing two of three in Pittsburgh to Jared Jones and Paul Skenes of the Pirates, the Dodgers rebounded nicely in New York against the Yankees, in large part due to Teoscar Hernández‘s performance.
Hernández was a massive part of the Dodgers offense explosion for eleven runs on Saturday, hitting two home runs, including a grand slam. Still, Teo continued to mash in the Bronx, hitting another home run on Sunday Night Baseball in the Dodgers 6-4 loss.
Overall, it was a fanatic week for Hernández, hitting .360/.429/.960 with a 1.389 OPS, nine hits, four home runs, and ten runs batted in, leading the Dodges to a respectable 3-3 road trip.
Hernández has arguably been the steal of the offseason for the Dodgers as they got the right-handed power bat for one-year $23.5 million, which begs the question: will the sides reunite for a contract extension at any point this season?
