It is no surprise when MLB Pipeline posted this morning, there top 10 left-handed pitchers of 2025. Two Los Angeles Dodgers Prospects were number 5 and number 7 on the list. Congratulations to Tulsa Driller LHP Jackson Ferris and Tulsa Driller LHP Justin Wrobleski!!!
LHP Jackson Ferris
The Dodgers acquired Jackson Ferris and outfielder prospect Zyhir Hope in the Cubs trade for Michael Busch and Yency Almonte in January. Ferris can miss bats in the strike zone with a variety of pitches, starting with a 92-95 mph fastball that reaches 97 with a flat approach angle and excellent carry.
He has a 75-78 mph curveball with downer break, and Chicago helped him add a 79-82 mph slider with sweep, and both are at least solid offerings. His mid-80s changeup with fade shows similar promise. Baseball experts have been quoted in saying “He has frontline-starter ceiling and resembles Blake Snell at the same stage of their careers”.
With Dodgers High-A Affiliate Great Lake Loons. Ferris was awarded MID Pitcher of the Month and MID Pitcher of the Week.
Scouting Reports – Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 60 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 45 | Overall: 55
LHP Justin Wrobleski
Wrobleski earned High-A Midwest League All-Star honors in 2023, his first extended taste of pro ball, posting a 2.90 ERA and 109/35 K/BB ratio in 102 1/3 innings. He was called up by the Dodgers in 2024 due to arm injuries and he did not disappoint on his first start.
After working with a 90-93 mph fastball, he came back from elbow reconstruction with a 93-96 mph heater that reaches 98 with armside run and carry. With a solid mid-80s slider with two-plane depth that he can turn into either a low-80s curveball with more break or a tighter upper-80s cutter when he wants. His mid-80s changeup is a reliable third offering with fade and sink.
Scouting Reports – Fastball: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 55 | Overall: 50
Ferris and Wrobleski are two talented left-handed pitchers that have a lot of upsides to them. The problem is, with all the off-season signings to the Dodgers pitching lineup. Where does Ferris and Wrobleski fit in? It is my opinion they will be a part of the Majors sooner than later.
