Dodgers News: Tyler Glasnow Will Start Rehab Assignment on Sunday

LOS ANGELES, CA— More good news is coming out of Los Angeles today as their starting rotation is inching closer toward their original plan, with right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow set to begin his minor league rehab assignment this Sunday, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Prior to tonight’s series opener versus the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium, Roberts met with the media and stated that Glasnow will head to Triple-A OKC with the Comets to pitch a two-inning appearance.
Glasnow faced hitters for a second time since being placed on the injured list in April due to right shoulder inflammation, and Roberts hinted that the team was debating whether he’d throw another simulated game or pitch in the minors. Well, we now have our answer.
Roberts also stated earlier this week that when Glasnow does begin his rehab assignment, the righty will likely need three outings to be built up and ready for activation, so if all goes well, Glasnow could rejoin the Dodgers starting rotation before the All-Star break.
Glasnow posted a 4.50 ERA across five starts this season and battled multiple injuries before landing on the injured list this season; however, his return will boost a Dodgers rotation that is desperate for help.
