Dodgers News: Vesia and Edman Expected to Rejoin Dodgers During Rockies Series
After activating Max Muncy tonight, the Dodgers are expected to also add Vesia and Edman by Wednesday

LOS ANGELES, CA—As the Los Angeles Dodgers return home to start a crucial three-game series versus the Colorado Rockies, they’ll do so with some much-needed reinforcements.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Dodgers activated third baseman Max Muncy off the 10-day injured list and optioned catcher Chuckie Robinson back to Triple-A OKC. Now they also look to add lefty Alex Vesia and utilityman Tommy Edman by the end of the series.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that the plan is to “probably” activate left-hander Alex Vesia tomorrow, giving the Dodgers another trusted arm for the backend of the Dodgers bullpen, which was exposed during the most recent road trip after multiple blown saves.
However, Roberts also confirmed that Tommy Edman, who has been out since August 1st with a right ankle sprain, is en route to Los Angeles and should be activated on Wednesday.
Vesia, 29, appeared in two minor league games during his minor league rehab assignment, posting two scoreless frames, including a 1-2-3 inning in his first appearance.
The return of Vesia will hopefully bring some stability in the Dodgers’ bullpen and give Dave Roberts a much clearer idea of who to use in games, especially with the postseason around the corner.
I’m going to go with the guys I trust… so this is a great audition, opportunity, for each of them.
Edman, 30, has been battling a right ankle injury for most of the season and has finally hopefully put the injury behind him.
Upon his return, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts already stated that Edman will likely see most of his time as the starting center fielder, which in turn will rearrange the current outfield alignment.
Edman went 4-for-14 in five minor league games, all of which were singles and played exclusively center field or designated hitter.
The return of Edman will provide depth to the bottom of the Dodgers’ lineup, which has struggled since the start of July. However, with Muncy, Kim, Kiké, and Edman, the Dodgers’ lineup should start to resemble itself again.
