Dodgers Preview: After Lengthy Road Trip, Dodgers Return Home and Welcome the A’s for Three
Los Angeles Dodgers (27-14) versus Athletics (21-20)

LOS ANGELES— After a season-long ten-game road trip, the Los Angeles Dodgers return to Chavez Ravine, kicking off a three-game series with the Athletics.
Despite playing ten games in ten days, all on the road, the Dodgers went 6-4 on that trip, collecting series wins in Atlanta and Miami and a series split with their National League West division rivals, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
While the offense has been hot collectively, the standout is All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman, who won National League Player of the Week honors after going 14-for-28 in seven games. His offensive outburst included three home runs, twelve RBI, and a 1.500 OPS.
However, the former Oakland A’s have been no slouch this season either. Entering today, they’re in second place in the American League West despite being just one game over .500 at 21-20.
The A’s, led by a new young core of Lawrence Butler, Mason Miller, Shea Langeliers, and Tyler Soderstrom, who has 1.4 bWAR this season.
Coming into this series, the A’s have five wins over their last ten games but are coming off their own weekend series split against their American League West rival, the Seattle Mariners.
