The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a series sweep of the lowly Chicago White Sox head, back out West in a division match-up with the San Fransisco Giants in the bay.

The Dodgers are on a winning streak, proving their strength and resilience by winning eight out of their last ten games, even without the presence of seven-time all-star Mookie Betts.

Like much of the National League West, the Giants have struggled most of the season, and the division standings under the Dodgers are constantly changing.

However, entering today, they sit in fourth place in the NL West with a thirty-nine and forty-two record, eleven and a half games back of the Dodgers.

It will be the third meeting between the two clubs this season, and the Dodgers currently have won five of their six games played, dominating their interstate rival.

Who’s in & who’s out?

The Dodgers’ injury situation has remained unchanged as they begin this three-game set with the Giants.

Veteran left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw was set to pitch in a rehab assignment on Tuesday but was pushed back due to shoulder soreness.

Max Muncy, who has been on the injured list since May, has finally begun swinging a bat and hopes to return after the all-star break.

Bobby Miller was activated in the 15-day IL and took Walker Buehler‘s spot in the starting rotation, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto is continuing to rest his shoulder due to his strained rotator cuff.

Ryan Brasier and Joe Kelly have been MIA over the last few weeks. Right-handed pitchers Dustin May and Brusdar Graterol have begun throwing bullpen sessions, and both are expected back late this season.

Landon Knack will also get his second start since his recall and will likely stay in the Dodgers rotation for the next few weeks with Buehler on the 15-day IL.

The Giants have been battling injuries throughout the 2024 season, and they have been decimated in the starting rotation as they only have two legit starting pitchers in Logan Webb and Jordan Hicks.

However, they will get a boost on offense as LaMonte Wade Jr. is expected to be activated off the 10-day IL. Wade has been out since May 27th with a left hamstring strain, but he began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, going 1-for-7 with four walks over three games with the River Cats.

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison has been out since June 13th after rolling his ankle while doing his weight room routine. He is expected to be out until July.

Left-handed starter Blake Snell, who has been a disaster for the Giants this season, is expected to also be out until July with left groin soreness.

Right-handed pitcher Keaton Winn is expected to be out until late summer with right elbow inflammation but is not expected to get surgery. On offense, they will be without outfielder Mike Yastrzemski due to a left oblique strain.
