Dodgers Preview: Los Angeles Finishes Off Ten-Game Road Trip with Four-Game Set Against Arizona
Los Angeles Dodgers (25-12) versus Arizona Diamondbacks (19-18)

PHOENIX— After winning back-to-back series to start their ten-game road trip, the Los Angeles Dodgers will head to Phoenix, Arizona, for a four-game set with their National League West rival, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
It is the first time the Dodgers will play one of the competitive teams in their highly contested National League West, with their previous meetings interdivisional only coming against the Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers have been red-hot over their last ten games, with an 8-2 record and an offensive explosion in Miami, dropping twenty-two runs across three games over the Marlins.
The Dodgers’ bullpen also got a much-needed rest during the series finale yesterday, with Landon Knack and Matt Sauer pitching the full nine innings combined in the Dodgers’ 10-1 victory.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have struggled over their last ten games, with an even five wins and five losses.
Despite having the third-best offense in the National League, with a collective 110 wRC+, the Diamondbacks’ bullpen has been a massive issue this season.
Overall, Arizona’s bullpen has the fourth-worst ERA in the National League, at 4.66, and it has blown seven saves this season.
However, despite this, the Diamondbacks have played the Dodgers well over the last two seasons with an 11-15 record since the 2023 season, including a series sweep during the 2023 National League Division Series.

Who’s in & who’s out?
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ injury woes continue heading into this series, as they’ve added three more players to the injured list over their last six games.
Teoscar Hernández, 32, was removed during the first game of their Miami Marlins series due to left groin discomfort. The 2024 National League All-Star was immediately placed on the 10-day injured list, and according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, we won’t see Teo for several weeks.
Tommy Edman, the Dodgers’ super utilityman, was set to return after the three-game series against the Miami Marlins, but with the Dodgers set to play the Diamondbacks in Arizona with their artificial turf field, the Dodgers opted to wait until this upcoming Tuesday.
Edman has missed the last seven games after tweaking his ankle during the last homestand. The same ankle forced Edman to miss an extended period of time last season during his rehab from wrist surgery.
The Dodgers also placed right-handed pitcher Evan Phillips back on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm discomfort. However, both Phillips and Roberts downplayed the severity of the injury, stating the righty could’ve pitched through it, but they opted to conserve his innings.
Right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow and left-handed pitcher Blake Snell are each expected to begin throwing again on Friday as they try to return to the Dodgers rotation in the first half of the regular season after both experiencing shoulder discomfort.
Veteran left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw is expected to make his fifth and final rehab appearance this Sunday with the Triple-A OKC Comets before being activated the following week on May 18th.
60-day Injured List (10): Clayton Kershaw, Brusdar Graterol, Michael Grove, Gavin Stone, River Ryan, Kyle Hurt, Emmet Sheehan, Edgardo Henriquez, Blake Treinen, Michael Kopech
15-day Injured List (2): Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Evan Phillips
10-day Injured List (1): Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández
The Arizona Diamondbacks are relatively healthy as we approach mid-May, with all of their injuries this season being pitching-related.
Two key arms, lefty A.J. Puk (left-elbow inflammation) and righty Kendall Graveman (back tightness), are out for the foreseeable future for the Dbacks.
Graveman, 34, is expected to return in May. Yesterday, he appeared in a rehab outing in Triple-A Reno. Puk is expected to miss extensive time, as the lefty complained of elbow stiffness after his appearance on April 17th.
The Diamondbacks’ big signing last offseason was 2023 World Series Champion Jordan Montgomery; however, the lefty will miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Day-to-day: Gabriel Moreno, Corbin Burnes
10-day Injured List (2): Kendall Graveman, A.J. Puk
60-day Injured List (2): Blake Walston, Jordan Montgomery
