Dodgers Preview: Surging Mets Travel to Los Angeles for Four-Game Weekday Series Against Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers (36-23) versus New York Mets (37-22)

LOS ANGELES, CA— Déjà vu as for the third time in two weeks, the Los Angeles Dodgers will play a New York-based team, this time welcoming the New York Mets to Dodger Stadium for a four-game mid-week series.
After taking a weekend series over the New York Yankees, the Dodgers look to continue their hot streak against an equally hot Mets team who have won eight of their last ten games, shooting them back to first place in the National League East.
Despite taking two of three this weekend, the Dodgers are playing modest baseball right now, winners of six of their last ten games, and are in a thirteen-game stretch dating back to Friday, May 30th.
The starting rotation and the bullpen will continue to be a storyline for the Dodgers, especially entering the dog days of summer and streaks of games like they’re in now.
While the bullpen has continued to work and the starting rotation has begun to show signs of life, such as back-to-back six-inning performances by right-handed pitchers Tony Gonsolin and Landon Knack over the weekend.
It has not been long since these two teams have played each other, as their last meeting came on the Dodgers’ recent six-game road trip at the end of May, which was a rain-soaked affair in Queens, New York, at Citi Field.
The Mets took two of three from the Dodgers, despite Los Angeles stealing the first game in an extra-inning win.

Who’s in & who’s out?
The Los Angeles Dodgers have had multiple changes to their injured list since their last meeting with the New York Mets.
The most significant injury is the fractured index toe on Dodgers All-Star shortstop Mookie Betts. The injury forced Betts to miss the entire weekend series against the Yankees, and the righty is considered day-to-day.
The Dodgers don’t foresee an injured list stint for Betts, but with the way things have gone for the club lately in that regard, it’s in the back of everyone’s mind.
The Dodgers also announced that veteran right-handed relief pitcher Evan Phillips will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on June 4th. Phillips was placed on the 15-day injured list in May, and his forearm did not recover with time off as he and the training staff had hoped.
An MRI revealed inflammation, prompting the team of doctors to recommend the procedure.
The latest Dodgers pitcher to join the injured list is veteran right-handed relief pitcher Luis García, who was placed on the 15-day IL on Sunday. The Dodgers stated it was a Right adductor strain for García and he was replaced by righty Noah Davis on the 26-man roster.
Day-to-day (1): Mookie Betts
15-day Injured List (4): Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, Kirby Yates, Luis García
60-day Injured List (11): Blake Snell, Brusdar Graterol, Michael Grove, Gavin Stone, River Ryan, Kyle Hurt, Emmet Sheehan, Edgardo Henriquez, Blake Treinen, Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips
The New York Mets are set to get a massive boost to their already productive 2025 starting rotation with the return of right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn, who will be activated and start tonight’s series opener.
Blackburn, 31, has missed the entire season with right knee inflammation and completed his minor league rehab stint with seven starts, including an eighty-four pitch outing on May 28th.
Outfielder Jose Siri is still weeks away from his activation after suffering a fractured tibia in April.
Luckily, the Mets’ starting rotation has remained afloat despite Frankie Montas and lefty Sean Manaea‘s being on the 60-day injured list.
Both starters are considered second-half reinforcements but have been involved in baseball activities.
10-day Injured List (2): Jose Siri, Jesse Winker
15-day Injured List (1): Paul Blackburn
60-day Injured List (8): Brooks Raley, Drew Smith, Christian Scott, Frankie Montas, Sean Manaea, Nick Madrigal, Danny Young, A.J. Minter
