Dodgers Preview: The New York Metropolitans come to town as LA looks to end homestand on a high note

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the New York Mets in the final three-game series of their nine-game homestand. It has been a disappointing week of Dodgers baseball as the team has dropped back-to-back series against the San Diego Padres and the Washington Nationals.

The Dodgers are 5-7 in their last 12 games and 2-4 on their homestand. The Mets, who started the 2024 season 0-5, have played excellent baseball, going 10-3 over their last 13 games.

The Dodgers hope to leave LA with a winning series before they depart for Washington, D.C., to begin their nine-game road trip.

Who’s in & who’s out?

The Los Angeles Dodgers will continue to be without Jason HeywardBrusdar GraterolBlake TreinenWalker Buehler, and Bobby Miller as they continue to rehab and work toward their inevitable return.

The Mets are facing a potential setback as top starting pitcher Kodai Senga was placed on the 60-day IL due to a shoulder issue. Mets third baseman Brett Baty, who is dealing with a hamstring issue, is listed as day-to-day. While he expressed optimism about his readiness for Friday night’s game, his availability remains uncertain.

The Dodgers will also dodge a bullet as former Dodgers DH J. D. Martinez will not be making his debut this series as he continues to rehab a back injury in Triple-A.
