GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the Cincinnati Reds in a late afternoon Cactus League matchup. Dodgers’ starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto took the mound but ran into early trouble, surrendering two runs in the first inning. However, he quickly settled in and delivered a solid outing, keeping the Dodgers within striking distance.
In the bottom of the third inning, shortstop Mookie Betts put the Dodgers on the board, launching his first home run of the spring to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Following Yamamoto’s outing, rookie phenom Roki Sasaki made his highly anticipated Cactus League debut. Sasaki impressed in his three innings of work, allowing just two hits, issuing one walk, and striking out five batters. His performance showcased the electric potential the Dodgers envisioned, laying a strong foundation as he builds experience this spring.
The Dodgers’ offense came alive in the bottom of the eighth. Jake Vogel tied the game with an RBI double, followed by an Austin Gauthier RBI single that gave Los Angeles its first lead of the night. Hunter Feduccia added an insurance run with an RBI forceout, extending the lead to 4-2.
With clutch hitting late in the game and a lockdown performance from the bullpen, the Dodgers rallied late to claim the win, improving to 7-6 in Cactus League play. As they continue building momentum, this strong stretch of play should serve them well heading into their early regular-season matchups in March.
The Dodgers will play against the Los Angeles Angels tomorrow at 12:10 p.m. PST in Tempe, with Landon Knack getting the start.
