Dodgers Recap: Dodgers drop back-and-forth game in Extras to Marlins
Game 36, 5/6/2025: Dodgers 4, Marlins 5

Miami LoanDepot Park – James Outman replaced the league’s best run producer Teoscar Hernandez in the lineup. Hyeseong Kim back in the starting lineup at second base. Andy Pages displayed why he’s a corner outfielder with a highlight reel play in right field. Marlins walk it off in the tenth to tie the three-game series 1-1.
Andy Pages took advantage of his new spot in the batting order. Pages drove a ball down the right field line for a stand up double. Freddie Freeman was up next and drove Pages in with drive into right center field. Tony Gonsolin finished the first inning off with sitting down the first three batters with sixteen pitches.
In the bottom of the third. Gonsolin was struggling some with his command. Marlins Liam Hicks hit what looked to be a home run but was robbed by Pages. Andy threw a 98-mph dart to Freeman for a double play to end the inning.
The bottom of the fifth. The Marlins took the lead with a two-run bomb by Liam Hicks. He made sure Pages didn’t rob him of another home run. After a weird called phantom strike by the home plate UMP to the end the inning. Gonsolin struck out the next batter to get out of the inning.
In the top of the sixth. Shohei Ohtani tied the game up with a bomb into the right field upper deck. Freddie Freeman said I can do that also, as the Dodgers go back-to-back home runs to take lead. Will Smith drove a hard-hit ball into right center field gap that bounced over the wall for a ground rule double.
Tony Gonsolins night was done and was replaced Luis Garcia in the top of the sixth. He threw 82 P / 49 S / 5 IP / 4 H / 2 ER / 2 BB / 8 K / 1 HR / 18 swing and miss. The Marlins tied the game back up with line drive double that went off the glove of Michael Conforto. Dane Myers continued to be a thorn in the Dodgers side with an RBI line drive to center fielder giving the lead back to Miami.
In this back in forth game. Ohtani crushed a line drive to right field scoring Hyeseong Kim from first base to tie the game once again. Unfortunately, Ohtani was left on base ending the top of the seventh.
What was supposed to be an off day for Mookie Betts. He came up to the plate in the top of the eighth to score Muncy from third. After six sweepers Betts hit a high fly ball to end the inning and standing the go ahead run on third.
The Dodgers couldn’t break the tie in the top of the ninth and the Marlins were shut down when Tanner Scott came into the bottom of the ninth.
Game two went into extra innings. With Ohtani on second base, Freeman was walked to put runners on first and second. The came up empty when Will Smith hit into a double play to end the inning.
Old friend J.P Feyereisen came into the bottom of the tenth to try and push the game into the eleventh. Dave Robert’s makes a move and stacks the infield with no outs and bases loaded. Jesús Sánchez singled on a ground ball to center fielder for a walk off single to end the game.
Landon Knack is scheduled to take the mound for the Dodgers. The Marlins start Valente Bellozo to try and take the series from the Dodgers. Game time starts at 1:40 PM PST and can be seen on SportsNet LA.
