Cactus League Game 7, 2/26/2025: Brewers 3, Dodgers 9
PHOENIX, ARIZ. – The Dodgers exploded offensively in their 9-3 victory over the Brewers this afternoon.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto got the start but struggled in his 2.2 innings, allowing four hits, two solo home runs, and two walks while striking out two. While he flashed potential, command issues and hard contact hindered his outing as he continued preparing for the season-opening series in Tokyo.
David Bote sparked the offense in the fourth with a bases-clearing double, tying the game. He has been on fire this spring, batting .667 with a 1.775 OPS, making a strong case for a roster spot. Hunter Feduccia followed with an RBI double, giving the Dodgers their first lead. Bote and Feduccia’s clutch hits were part of a six-run inning that showcased the lineup’s depth.
Top prospect José De Paula added an RBI single, and Miguel Rojas capped the rally with an RBI double. After struggling in previous games, the Dodgers’ offensive surge was a welcome sight.
Andy Pages added a towering solo home run in the fifth, displaying his raw power further. Bote wasn’t done either, launching a homer to dead center and bringing his total to four RBIs on the day.
Tony Gonsolin continued his solid spring performance with two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one. The right-hander looked sharp, showing improved command and consistency compared to his previous outings. With his velocity and breaking stuff working well, Gonsolin positioned himself well in his outing as he ramps up for the regular season. His ability to stay efficient and limit baserunners will be crucial.
At the top of the eighth inning, Kody Hoese would hit a single down the right field line, bringing home another run to bring in Chris Newell. This would eventually be the Dodgers’ last run scored for the day, rounding out the score 9-3.
Overall, the Dodgers delivered a strong performance in their afternoon matchup against the Brewers. Timely hitting, highlighted by an exceptional showing from David Bote, enabled Los Angeles to take advantage of key offensive opportunities in an area where they had faced challenges in previous games. This victory was uplifting for the Boys in Blue, who will aim to carry their momentum into their next Cactus League showdown tomorrow afternoon.
The Dodgers will face the Colorado Rockies tomorrow, with Landon Knack starting in Scottsdale at 3:10 p.m. PST.
