Game 44, 5/14/2024: Dodgers 10, Giants 2

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The Dodgers were looking to take the series against the Giants in the bay and were looking for much-needed offensive help after last night’s extra-inning thriller.

Shohei Ohtani put the Dodgers on the board first with a monstrous home run (12) in the 4th that almost resulted in a splash hit, but nonetheless sailed 446 feet out of the ballpark.

Teoscar Hernandez followed that up with an RBI double to drive in a run, Max Muncy hit a sac fly, and a Gavin Lux RBI triple to end the four spot put up in the 4th.

More offense was provided by Will Smith as he hit an RBI single to add insurance in the 5th.

Heliot Ramos‘s RBI single in the sixth was the only blip on Gavin Stone’s stat line in this one as the Dodgers’ righty went 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 2 K, on 90 pitches.

After a leadoff triple by Mookie Betts, Ohtani again added another RBI to his tally with an run-scoring double to extend the Dodgers lead 6-1.

This would not be the last of the offense as the Dodger bats exploded in the top half of the ninth and put up a four-spot that was supported by a Miguel Rojas RBI double, a Freddie Freeman RBI single, and Hernandez RBI triple to cap off the scoring for Los Angeles.

The Dodgers took game two of this series and ultimately the series win. Los Angeles gets their 29th win of the year and will look for the sweep tomorrow at 6:45 PM PT.
