Game 26, 4/25/2025: Dodgers 0, Pirates 3
Los Angeles, Chavez Ravine — The Pirates came into to Los Angeles to take on a struggling Dodgers offense. The matchups were made, and it was a much-anticipated pitching duel between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Paul Skenes.
Yamamoto start off the first inning with a slow start. His command was off and walked three batters. The Pirates got on the board first with an Enmanuel Valdez single on a sharp ground ball to right field scoring Oneil Cruz.
In the bottom of the third. The Dodgers had a chance to tie or take the lead when Andy Pages hit an opposite field double with Shohei Ohtani coming up to bat. After an Ohtani blooper, Pages got caught running to third for the second out. Mookie Betts came up to bat and hit a weak ground ball to end the inning.
Yamamoto was done after five innings. His line for the night, 87P / 56S / 5IP / 5H / 3R / 1ER / 4BB / 5K. His performance was unexpected and walked four batters due to inconsistent command.
Skenes night was done in the bottom of the seventh. His line for the night, career high 108P / 69S / 6.1IP / 5H / 0R / 0BB / 9K. Dodgers had their chance to score on him but left 6 runners on base.
Out of the six hits from the Dodgers lineup. Andy Pages 3, Freddie Freeman 2, and Teoscar Hernandez 1. The rest of the lineup, four players went 0-4 and 2 others went 0-3.
The Dodgers drop game one of the three game home series against the Pirates. The Dodgers look to Roki Sasaki to help the team get out of the funk they are in. Dodger hitters will face RHP Mitch Keller. Game time starts at 6:10 PM PST and can be watched on SportsNet LA.
