Game 33, 5/03/2025: Dodgers 10, Braves 3
ATLANTA, Truist Park — Tonight’s game started off with a three-hour rain delay. Hyeseong Kim was in the dugout after being called up from OKC after Tommy Edman was put on the IL. Roki Sasaki’s fastball and splitter was on point to get his first win of the season. After scoring only 2 runs in last night’s game. The Dodgers offense put ten runs on the board.
After a pitcher dual in the first inning. Will Smith got things started with a line drive to right center field for a double. The Dodgers got on the board first with a Michael Conforto sacrifice that scored Will Smith.
The Braves tied the game up when Eli White tripled on a line drive to right field. Ozzie Albies scored to even it up.
In the top of the third inning. Shohei Ohtani crushed a fastball over the center field wall that gave the Dodgers the lead. Teoscar Hernandez smoked a line drive up the middle for an RBI single that scored Mookie Betts.
Ohtani had the early hot bat going three for three after a line drive up the middle in the fourth inning. Betts smoked a breaking ball down the leftfield line for an RBI double scoring Ohtani. Freddie Freeman crushed an opposite field double that scored Betts from second base. The Dodgers offense knocked out the Braves starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach in the fourth inning after 3.2 innings. The Dodgers opened the game up scoring four runs in the fourth inning with two outs.
Sasaki gave up a leadoff home run to Ozzie Albies to start off the botton of the fourth. Albies home run sparked the Braves offense scoring two runs to keep them close. After giving up a double and hitting a batter, Sasaki got out of the inning popping up Ozuna to end the fourth.
Sasaki had a clean fifth sitting down the first three batters. His night was done after the fifth and had one of his best games against a solid Braves offense. Stats – 98P / 56S / 5IP / 6H / 3ER / 2BB / 4K / 1HR 6 swing and miss.
After a Chris Taylor strikeout in the top of the eighth. Ohtani and Betts are walked putting runners on first and second. Freddie Freeman came up and launched one over the centerfield wall for a three-run home run.
The Dodgers go for the sweep tomorrow in Atlanta. Dustin May will take the mound for Los Angeles and the Dodgers offense will face Atlanta’s Bryce Elder. Game time starts 4:10 PM PST and can be seen on ESPN.
