Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers One of Three Teams to Meet With Kyle Tucker
As Kyle Tucker's free agency progresses, the All-Star outfielder has met with the Dodgers, Mets, and Blue Jays

LOS ANGELES, CA—While it’s hard to comprehend, the 2026 Major League Baseball season is fast approaching with multiple teams set to report to their respective spring training facilities in less than a month.
However, despite that, there are multiple high-profile free agents still left on the open market, such as Cody Bellinger, Bo Bichette, and Kyle Tucker.
While rumors have started to pick up on all three players, such as Bichette’s interest in signing with the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Yankees are at an impasse with Bellinger, and now the latest update on Kyle Tucker connects him even further to Los Angeles.
According to former General Manager and current MLB Network Radio personality Jim Duquette, the Dodgers are one of three teams to have met with Kyle Tucker over the last week, whether in person or via Zoom. That list also includes the New York Mets and the defending American League champion Toronto Blue Jays.
Entering the offseason, the expectation for Tucker and his agent was that the four-time All-Star would secure a long-term contract exceeding $400 million.
But as we move further down the calendar, it seems that massive payday may be a thing of the past, especially if the Dodgers and Mets are finalists, as both teams have been rumored to only be offering Tucker a short-term high-AAV deal compared to the Blue Jays long-term offer.
Nevertheless, the Dodgers’ continued involvement far down the line, with the start of the 2026 season so close, is a good sign, and with a hole still in the outfield, adding Kyle Tucker would be a perfect fit.
Although Tucker had a less productive season by his standards, he still finished with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs, along with a .266/.377/464 slash line. However, he missed a significant portion of the regular season due to a hand injury, which impacted his performance and lowered his market value.
A possible factor influencing Tucker’s negotiations is his reported dislike of being the center of attention. Despite all three teams interested in him being based in major markets, Tucker is not expected to be the main star on any of these teams.
Then you have multiple reports, such as from Dodgers insider David Vassegh of AM 570, where he’s heard from people close to the situation that Tucker doesn’t view baseball as priority No. 1, which has rubbed some fans the wrong way.
Should the Dodgers lose out on the Tucker sweepstakes, they could look further down the free agency pipeline, such as a reunion with Cody Bellinger, who is seeking a 7-year deal with north of $30 million per year, or back to the trade market for Steven Kwan or Brendnan Donovan.
