Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers Remain Interested in Tucker & Bellinger

LOS ANGELES, CA—Although it’s now officially 2026 and the Major League Baseball season is less than two months away, several top free agents from this offseason still have not signed by January.

While this is nothing new for the MLB offseason, which has been more famous for rumors than actual deals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off back-to-back World Series titles and their third in six seasons, are heavily involved in the trade and free-agent market, looking to become the first three-peat champion since the New York Yankees over 25 years ago.

While Andrew Friedman and his team tackled their bullpen issue by signing All-Star closer Edwin to a three-year contract to serve as the full-time closer, their next goal before the regular season is to strengthen their core of position players, especially in the outfield.

Since the start of the offseason, the Dodgers have continued to be linked to two of the top free agents on the open market: Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger, and that hasn’t changed, according to MLB insider Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

The Dodgers are also lurking as a possibility for Tucker, who would make the two-time defending World Series champions even more dangerous as they take aim at a threepeat.

The two New York teams seem like the obvious fits for Bellinger, though the Angels, Blue Jays and Dodgers remain in the mix.

Both players are seeking long-term deals, but if their market collapses as the season approaches, they could be open to the Dodgers’ preferred short-term, high-AAV deal they’ve been willing to offer.

Both players would solve a multitude of issues in the Dodgers’ outfield, providing Los Angeles with a young left-handed power bat with above-average speed and defense.

As the winter moves on, when one of the big free agents finally drops, we should see a lot more movement on the market and more clarity on where things stand as we inch closer to spring training in February.
