Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers Showing Interest in Brewers Freddy Peralta

The Dodgers have been connected to Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta

LOS ANGELES, CA—Although Los Angeles made only two major moves this offseason—re-signing veteran utilityman and Game Seven hero Miguel Rojas on a one-year deal, and signing All-Star closer Díaz to a three-year contract—most of their recent actions have focused on increasing organizational flexibility.

As the 2026 Major League Baseball offseason advances, with spring training starting in under two months and several key trade candidates and free agents still available, the rumor mill remains lively, and the Dodgers are very much involved.

Heading into the offseason, the Dodgers’ two priorities seemed to be the bullpen and the outfield, which is why they signed Díaz and have reported interest in Cody Bellinger and possibly Kyle Tucker; they’ve also been linked to multiple arms in the trade market.

At the MLB Winter Meetings in Orlando last month, there was considerable speculation about the Dodgers possibly pursuing back-to-back American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal, although a deal never appeared imminent.

Now, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Dodgers are linked to another starter on the trade block: Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta.

The Freddy Peralta talks are about to resume in earnest. Both New York clubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox are among the teams showing interest.

Peralta, 29, has been one of the more consistent starting pitchers over the last several years and is entering the final year of club control, set to earn $8 million in 2026. Hence, the Brewers are shopping him this winter.

The right-handed pitcher finished last season with a 17-6 record, a 2.70 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, and averaged 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings over 176.2 innings in 33 starts. He was selected for his second All-Star game and ranked fifth in NL Cy Young Award voting.

The Dodgers don’t really need Peralta since they already have ample starting pitching depth, and even if they added him, he might serve as their fifth starter.

Still, if the team were to trade for Peralta, the Dodgers trading from their starting pitching depth would be almost certain.

While Rosenthal does not think a deal is imminent or that the Dodgers would be very aggressive for Peralta for Kyle Tucker, he admits you should stay watchful when Andrew Friedman is involved.
