Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers to Recall Julian Fernández

MILWAUKEE, WI— According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to recall right-handed pitcher Julian Fernández.
The Dodgers signed Fernández in December to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training; however, the righty did not make the final roster.
The Dominican Republic native was out of affiliated ball in 2024. Fernández spent the year in Mexico. He had an excellent season with Veracruz, turning in a 1.82 earned run average through 34 2/3 frames. He struck out 32.1% of opposing hitters.
The righty flashed great velocity, averaging 99mph on his fastball, but in his career, this did not translate to many whiffs, with a 24% strikeout rate.
Overall, this season the right-hander is 3-0 with a 4.08 ERA in 28.2 innings, racking up thirty-two strikeouts and posting a 1.50 WHIP.
Fernández is not on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster, so a move will have to be made prior to tonight’s game against the Brewers.
