Dodgers Rumors: Kiké Hernández & Dodgers Have Mutual Interest in Re-Signing
Both the Dodgers and Kiké are hopeful for a reunion

LOS ANGELES, CA—After announcing on Instagram that he underwent left elbow surgery, veteran utilityman Kiké Hernández and the Los Angeles Dodgers have “mutual” interest in a reunion.
According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the Dodgers and Hernández have remained in contact since the start of the 2026 offseason, hoping to reach an agreement on a new contract for the upcoming season.
There is mutual interest in another reunion between Hernández and the Dodgers, though it’s unclear how Hernández’s health will affect future contract negotiations between the team and player.
Hernández had a down year in 2025 for Los Angeles, hitting just .203/.255/.366 with eight doubles, 10 home runs, and 35 RBIs in 92 games this past summer; however, much of that could be blamed on an elbow injury that bothered him since May.
It is no surprise that both sides have a mutual interest in a reunion, as they came together after the 2023 and 2024 seasons, albeit late in the offseason, and that is the expectation this time around.
Along with Hernández, the Dodgers are also expected to be interested in bringing back Miguel Rojas. He has expressed a clear preference to stay with the Dodgers. Both players stepped up at crucial moments during the postseason to help the Dodgers secure back-to-back World Series titles.
While Hernández did not provide specifics on his surgery, he stated that due to the rehab process and preparing for the upcoming 2026 season, he’ll miss the 2026 World Baseball Classic, as he was expected to play for Team Puerto Rico.
