The Los Angeles Dodgers finish up their final set of Cactus League Games this Monday and Tuesday before the team heads off to Tokyo, Japan, to kick off the 2025 Major League Baseball regular season in a two-game series against the Chicago Cubs.

The series has generated much buzz largely due to the return of two-way superstar Shohei Ohatni, who is an icon in his home country of Japan. It seems that the popular online shooter game Fortnite is also taking notice of the hype.

While it has not been offically confirmed by the publisher Epic Games if Ohtani will indeed be added to the ever-growing Fortnite roster, all around Japan, have been postered labeled “FORTN17E, coming soon.”

To make the rumors even more plausible, the game is set to receive another major update next week (v34.10), which coincides with the Japan Series between the two clubs on March 18th and 19th.

Ohtani would be the first Major League Baseball player to join the game, but the publisher has already collaborated with multiple sports leagues, such as the National Football League and National Basketball Association, and most notably pop culture favorites, such as Star Wars and Marvel Comics.

For Major League Baseball, it makes sense to market arguably their most marketable player, who is not only one of the more popular players in the United States but is a global icon on one of the most well-known franchises in baseball.
