Dodgers Take a Beating as Cubs Pounce in Late Innings
Everything went pretty smooth through the fifth. Clayton Kershaw looked much better on his second appearance since coming off the DL, giving up just one run and four hits through five innings. The Dodgers scored early with Max Muncy continuing his homerun-fest, going yard in the third following Enrique Hernandez’s line drive RBI single in the second.
Yet things went awry when rehabbing Walker Buehler came in during the sixth and almost immediately gave up a home run to Albert Almora, Jr.
And the hemorrhage commenced.
Chicago went on to score again in the sixth, got seven (yes, seven) runs in the seventh and one in the eighth. The Dodgers went down swinging though with a two-run shot from Justin Turner in the ninth.
The Dodgers lost 11-5, splitting the series with the Cubs. L.A. continues their homestand tonight against the 4th place Colorado Rockies.
Game time is 7:10 pm, PST.
