The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Florida Marlins have agreed to send Dodgers Dee Gordon and Dan Haren to the Miami Marlins for pitcher, Andrew Heaney, second baseman Enrique Hernandez, reliever Chris Hatcher and catcher Austin Barnes.
Dee Gordon had an impressive season as he was named an All Star in 2014. He led the league in stolen bases and his speed helped him wreck havoc on the base paths. He batted in the leadoff position for the Dodgers. Dan Haren, the Dodgers #4 pitcher, said he would retire if he wasn’t play for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He wanted to keep his family close to Southern California. The Dodgers will pick up Haren’s contract, even if he decides to retire.
This marks the second big trade, as the Dodgers have reportedly acquired Jimmy Rollins from the Phillies earlier in the day.
