A day removed since the controversial remarks made by Don Mattingly regarding The Dodgers and lack of grit, new information is being learned that he may have actually had approval from management. Molly Knight from ESPN Magazine was on The Mason and Ireland show today (10 minutes in) and brought up some interesting points. She mentioned that after Tuesday’s loss Mattingly, his coaches and Ned Colletti all met until about 1:00 AM. Mattingly was then at the stadium a few hours later and made the comments about Andre Ethier and the team. She says whatever was discussed the night before was agreed upon by Mattingly and Colletti. She feels a GM wouldn’t be doing that is the Manager is about to get fired.
