Dodgers News: Kiké Hernández Targets May Return With Dodgers as Rehab Progresses Ahead of Schedule
Kiké Hernández Injury Update: A May Return in Sight?

San Juan, Puerto Rico — Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Kiké Hernández shared an encouraging update on his recovery timeline while speaking with reporters during World Baseball Classic media availability with Team Puerto Rico.
Hernández is currently on the 60-day injured list, which means he must complete that full period before returning, regardless of how quickly his recovery progresses. Still, the veteran said his rehab has gone better than expected.
“Everything is going really well,” Hernández said. “The recovery has gone very well. I’m actually a few weeks ahead of where I was supposed to be.”
Because of that progress, the Dodgers were comfortable allowing Hernández to travel to Puerto Rico to support the national team during the tournament, even though he cannot play.
If his recovery continues on schedule, Hernández believes the earliest he could return to the Dodgers lineup would be May 24.
“The earliest I could play is May 24,” Hernández said. “If everything keeps going the way it’s supposed to.”
Even with the positive timeline, Hernández emphasized that his main priority is making sure he is fully healthy for the most important part of the season.
“If not, then whenever God wants,” Hernández said. “As long as I’m ready for October, that’s what matters.”
Although he won’t be able to contribute on the field during the World Baseball Classic, Hernández said he still wanted to be around Team Puerto Rico to offer support and veteran leadership.
