The Dodgers have been accumulating awards this past season. Long time Dodgers scout Mike Brito has been named 2014 International Scout of the Year. Mike Brito is known for sitting behind home plate with his trademark Panama hat and radar gun.
Mike Brito is responsible for the signings of many Dodgers players. His notable signings include Fernando Valenzuela, Bobby Castillo, Yasiel Puig and Julio Urias, among other Dodgers.
Mike Brito has been a scout with the Los Angeles Dodgers since 1978 and was inducted into the Cuban Hall of Fame in 2005. This award is not given out yearly.
Mike Brito will be honored at this year’s upcoming winter meetings.
