News from the Farm: Dodgers release Andre Lipcius

The Los Angeles Dodgers organization release OKC Comets Andre Lipcius today. Lipcius was picked up by the Dodgers during Spring Training in March of this year. The third baseman was traded by the Detroit Tigers and was activated to the Dodgers Triple-A Affiliate Oklahoma City Baseball.

When Max Muncy went on the injury list this past season, Lipcius was rumored to be called up to fill in at third base while Muncy was out. Those of us who follow and report on Dodgers baseball, were surprised when the Dodgers never brought him up.

Lipcius played third base, second base, and finished out the 2024 season playing first. Lipcius was a power hitter that could smash the ball out of the park, put was a little inconsistent with his glove. Lipcius lead the PCL for the first half of the season with the most homeruns and had critical hits when OKC needed it most.

With OKC Lipcius had a great first half of the season and then his bat cooled off a bit in the second half of the season.

OKC 2024 Stats: 561AB / 152H / 26 doubles / 25HR / 89RBI / 68BB / 145SO / 10SB / .271AVG / .351OBP / .458SLG / .809OPS

Lipcius should have no problem getting picked up by a team and has the ability to make a Major League roster. If you would like to know more on Andre Lipcius, click on the link and view our interview with him.
