The Dodgers have never been one to shy away from acquiring star talent to better their postseason chances.
In years past, the Dodgers went after legendary talents like David Freese and Albert Pujols to rising stars like Manny Machado to bolster their lineups and this year should be no exception.
The addition of the DH into the National League has added an element of surprise to lineups across the league. One star at the moment sparks interest in the absence of star outfielder Mookie Betts and that is New York Yankee right fielder Aaron Judge, who is battling in arbitration with the team. The addition of Judge into a lineup who’s top 3 are Mookie Betts, pending whenever he returns , Freddie Freeman and Trea Turner would make the team an absolute Death Star of both offensive and defensive power.
Speaking of outfield, the return of A.J Pollock would also bolster the power of the team in left field, a position he knows very well. Pollock had his fair share of powerhouse moments with the team when he joined in 2019 until he was traded to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for Craig Kimbrel.
The addition of a high-pressure situation reliever would calm some nerves when it comes to the 9th inning. Kimbrel, in his short time with the team, has proven to be very nerve-racking to watch pitch in the closer position. His performance has come with sharp criticism from analysts and fans alike, attributing him to a struggling Kenley Jansen during his time with the Boys in Blue.
What Next?
Starting pitching, as well as the bullpen has taken a hit with the recent injuries in starters Walker Buehler and Andrew Heaney with bullpen arms Daniel Hudson and Caleb Ferguson also going down.
It is evident the Dodgers will need to pull some magic come the deadline if they have hopes for another championship.
