*UPDATE* : Scott Bream will be remaining with the Detroit Tigers and will not be coming to Los Angeles.
The Dodgers have been making a series of off-season front office moves after a disappointing first round exit of the NLDS. With the addition of president Andrew Friedman, the whole front office has been overhauled. The Dodgers had permission to talk to Scott Bream about a front office position but Scott Bream will be remaining with the Detroit Tigers.
Scott Bream was a minor league player who was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 1989 MLB June Amateur Draft. He was selected in the third round and made it as far as Triple A as a minor league player. He spent 10 years in the minor leagues. His positions while playing were second base, shortstop and the outfield.
Bream had been the director of pro scouting for two years in Detroit. His experience includes duties as an advanced scout, team’s AGM (assistant general manager) and pro scouting director. He also worked in the San Diego Padres organization for two years as a special assistant. After his stint in San Diego, he came back to the Detroit Tigers as pro scouting director in 2012.
