Yasiel Puig to Host Wild Horse Poker Tournament at Dodger Stadium
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig will host the Wild Horse Poker Tournament at Dodger Stadium (Stadium Club, 1000 Vin Scully Avenue, Los Angeles) on Monday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m. The event will benefit his Wild Horse Foundation, a nonprofit organization that strives to aid economically disadvantaged children and families. A limited number of individual tickets to attend the event are still available for purchase at www.wildhorsefdn.org. Event sponsorships are sold out.
Attendees playing poker alongside Puig include host/emcee George Lopez, Dodgers teammates Logan Forsythe, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmani Grandal, Kenley Jansen, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Chase Utley, Dodger broadcasters Orel Hershiser, Alanna Rizzo and Jerry Hairston Jr., and former Dodgers Paul Lo Duca and Derrel Thomas. Celebrities, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry King, Danny Trejo, Ben Higgins, Mayra Veronica, and Benito Martinez will also be in attendance, and musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Politik.
The ‘Wild Horse’ sponsor for the tournament is Dr. Amitiss Nasiri. ‘Grand Slam’ sponsors are: The Los Angeles Dodgers, Melissa’s Produce, Meruelo Enterprises, Ace Industry Supply, Victorino Noval, Johnny Lopez and Jerry Estrada. ‘RBI’ sponsors are the Wasserman Foundation, Tadin LLC, F. The Wild Horse Poker Tournament grand prize is a 2017 Ford Focus, courtesy of West Covina Ford, and a unique tournament trophy. Top-ten finishers will receive premium gift bags, and the second and third place finishers will also receive plaques.
The Wild Horse Foundation is a 501 (C)(3) charity, whose programming efforts include distributing food to areas in need and during the holiday season, purchasing and distributing toys for children, providing athletic equipment to schools and youth leagues in need, and donating supplies to community centers and underprivileged schools.
