Brewer’s Pitching Vexes Dodgers

The struggle was very real Monday night in L.A. After a marathon first inning and a 20-minute power outage delay, the Dodgers failed again and again to score runs despite getting runners on base. The Dodgers went 0-5 with RISP and left a total of 11 runners on base in Monday’s 5-2 loss to Milwaukee.

Starting pitcher Kenta Maeda struggled as well, throwing 34 pitches in the first innings alone and struggled with command throughout the 4 and 2/3 innings pitched. Maeda gave up a run in the first and a three-run shot to Eric Thames in the third.

Despite the power outage, there was electricity in the air at Chavez Ravine with the debut of Manny Machado. “Mannywood” and “Mannywood 2.0” shirts were peppered throughout the crowd, and despite a somewhat mediocre first appearance in a home jersey, Machado did get a homerun in the ninth… too little too late unfortunately.

L.A. remains in first place as both Colorado and Arizona lost their respective games Monday as well. The Dodgers continue the four-game series tonight against the Brewers.

Game time tonight is 7:10 pm, PST.
