The Los Angeles Dodgers will finish their nine-game road trip in an NL West clash with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It will be the first time the two clubs have met since the 2023 NLDS when the Dodgers were shockingly swept out of the postseason. The Dodgers are looking to turn the page on that outcome as they enter this series 5-1 on their road trip and 6-4 over their last ten.

The Diamondbacks are currently in fourth place in the NL West, three games under .500, and 4-6 over their last ten games. Each team had a monumental offseason, with the Diamondbacks bringing in star left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery and Eduardo Rodríguez, re-signing Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and trading for Eugenio Suárez.

Pitching match-ups

Who’s in & who’s out?

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without the same names that have been on the IL, such as Jason HeywardWalker BuehlerBrusdar GraterolBobby Miller, and Blake Treinen. The Dodgers also placed Kyle Hurt on the 60-day IL this past week, and to make room for Nabil Crismatt‘s callup yesterday, the Dodgers optioned left-handed relief pitcher Nick Ramirez.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have had their own troubles with injuries, especially in their starting rotation: Merrill Kelly (15-day IL), Paul Sewald (15-day IL), Ryne Nelson (15-day IL), and left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez, who was placed on the 60-day IL due to a left lat strain.

Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen, a player of great importance to the team, is now questionable after he was removed from his last start against the Mariners with a right hamstring issue. However, Gallen expressed optimism that he will be able to make his next start, leaving fans and fantasy baseball players eagerly awaiting his return.

On the offensive side of the ball, the D-Backs will also be without speedster Alec Thomas due to a strained left hamstring that Thomas suffered back on March 31 against the Rockies. The D-Backs will also be without Geraldo Perdomo, who is on the 15-day IL with a right meniscus tear and will return in mid-May.
