Dodgers Best the Cubs in Tight Game
Swing often and swing hard was the name of the game Wednesday night in Los Angeles as the Dodgers went to the long ball three times in their 7-5 victory over the Cubs.
Things didn’t look great early on for Dodger’s starting pitcher Alex Wood, as William Contreras slugged a two-run shot in the first inning. The Dodger’s Max Muncy answered back in short order though, going to center in the bottom-half of the first. (And how about adding a little insult to injury when Muncy’s homer popped back into center and pegged Albert Almora Jr. on the head?)

Joc Pederson also went yard, getting his 11th HR of the season in the second.
The Dodgers continued to slug into the third but went quiet until an insurance run on Cody Bellinger’s dinger in the eighth. The Cubs had come within one of tying the game in the top of the inning.
Kenley Jansen came in during the eighth and stayed on to shut the Cubs down in the ninth.
The four-game series wraps today. Game time is 12:10 pm, PST.
