Dodgers Fall to Phillies Again; Look to Come Back in Atlanta

The Dodgers dropped the final game and series against the Phillies Wednesday, unable to recover from a five-run fifth that included an HR and double off Walker Buehler and a triple off Scott Alexander after a pitching change.

Even with a sixth-inning, two-run smash by Max Muncy, the Dodgers failed to rally back, losing 7-3.

Despite the struggles Buehler has had as of late, manager Dave Roberts said the rookie is here to stay: “we need him through the season and into October… we believe we’re better when he’s with us.”  Buehler has spent a couple of stints on the disabled list, most recently for fractured ribs. His current ERA is 3.92.

The Dodgers head to Atlanta today to attempt to right the ship. The D-Backs lost to the Cubs Wednesday and remain a half game behind L.A. for first.

Game time tonight is 4:35 pm, PST.

The sloppy Atlanta defense certainly helped, but a dominating performance from Rich Hill and hot Dodger bats led to a smooth victory in Atlanta Thursday.
