LOS ANGELES, CA — The Dodgers must think they have what they need as far as the starting pitching goes for the rest of the year. They have traded sometime starter Mitch White to the Toronto Blue Jays for two prospects.
Frasso is a 23-year-old righty who’s putting together a spectacular year in High-A ball. He’s got a 0.74 ERA so far this season. The Torrance native played his college ball at Loyola Marymount. Moises Brito is a 20-year-old out of the Dominican Republic. He is a right-handed pitcher with a 1.86 ERA so far in his minor league career. He throws from the left side and will probably need a few more years of seasoning before he’s ready for the Show.
It’s kind of a drag to lose the likeable White, who did yeoman’s work when Buehler, Kershaw, and Heaney were on the IL. White was 1-2 with the Dodgers this year, with 3.70 ERA over 15 games, which included 10 starts. White wasn’t as consistent as he probably would have liked, but he plugged a hole when one needed to be plugged and for that Dodger fans will be in his debt.
