Dodgers News: Kershaw continues to make progress

LOS ANGELES, CA — Things are definitely moving in the right direction. On Friday afternoon, Dodgers’ lefty Clayton Kershaw pitched a pre-game bullpen session at Dodger Stadium, another step on his road back from the IL.

Manager Dave Roberts made clear that it was one of several hoops that Kershaw would have to jump through before being activated. Roberts said that he foresaw Kersh pitching a few more times before talk would turn to rejoining the rotation. That progression, according to Roberts, would probably include throwing some live BP to hitters, another bullpen, and a sim game or two. Then, perhaps it would be off to OKC or Ranch Cucamonga for a tune-up before taking the mound for the Dodgers.

In other words, we’re still a ways off. Still, baby steps back. We can’t have our ace go down again. Not this year.
